Humanical

This piece features a machine in the middle of a junkyard. Upon first seeing the piece, the two hands on the machine take up significant attention, looking as if the hands were designers and mechanics of the machines.

The hands play a vial role in giving this piece meaning. Back to when machines were first developed; human hands were a necessity to design and engineer machines for them to operate, which revolved around human hands and work.

However, the hands depicted are not normal human hands–seemingly a mechanical hybrid and somewhat futuristic. This kind of appearance was chosen to symbolize the work of AI taking the place of not only future human work but also hiding their contributions in the past. The idea was sourced from people of my surroundings expressing concerns of AI making it seem that their progress serves ruthlessly in the end.
